How to Use a Pouf
Pouf, ottoman, cushion, whatever you may call them. They are the most versatile piece of furniture you could own. Whether they are cylindrical, cube-shaped or round, they can provide many useful ways to make your house look great. Let’s breakdown the top ways that you can put your pouf to good use.
The first way that you can put your Moroccan pouf to good use is simply by using it as table! It is so easy and convenient that I’m sure you’re going to try it at some point. Just place a few Moroccan Poufs near a seating area and it conveniently provides a surface for you to place your plates, trays or anything else you need. It works really well for kids, the area of the pouf is perfect for a small snack, or even a tray for tea time. But it doesn’t stop there, you can use them in the kid’s room for them to play some board games or stack their books and toys. The Moroccan pouf doubles as a table extremely well…
An end of the bed bench is always stylish and convenient. Why not make it unique and fun by creating that bench with a couple of poufs! Just try adding two Moroccan poufs at the foot of your bed. This simple and easy change can completely transform your room. Now you have extra seating, a place to perhaps store clothes, extra blankets, or anything else you may need. This is one effective and beautiful thing that you an easily do in a few minutes!
One of the most common thing that a Moroccan pouf, or any ottoman is used for is extra seating. You can easily place a couple of poufs around the room or under the coffee table, ready to be pulled out for some guests. Again, poufs work great in kid’s rooms! They’re the perfect height for kids to sit on while they play. But this doesn’t only apply for inside. You can also use these cushions to enhance your outdoor lounge. Just be sure to bring them back inside if it rains so you don’t ruin the leather!
Now here’s a neat idea. Many people don’t think of this, but a Moroccan pouf is a perfect tool to use as hidden storage. There is a zipper easily accessible at the bottom of the pouf, just unzip it and you can easily hide money, valuables, or any small things you want to keep hidden. You can also use a pouf to store old clothes or blankets. Just remove some of the stuffing, and place in there! Super convenient and easy way to store in plain sight.
Moroccan Poufs are amazing footrests. It’s probably the most common use for it, but if you haven’t been doing it you are missing out! This is what I personally use my poufs for the most. I just place it in front of the couch, turn on a movie and lounge in it like a Lazy Boy. It’s extremely comfortable and practical. I honestly can fall asleep when sitting this position, it’s great. The pouf is so firm yet so there really isn’t a better footrest. You can just leave them near your couch, or favorite seat and have it handy when you’re trying to relax.
Need to reach something high up? Don’t have a stool handy? Just bring over your pouf and stand on that! Most poufs are at least 20” tall, so it actually does make an effective stool. Especially if have a firmly stuffed pouf so you won’t sink in. The leather that poufs are made of are quite durable so don’t shy from stepping on it if you need to grab something really quick. This is another example that works great with kids. If you have a pouf in a kid’s room, they can use it to step on and reach high shelves or anything else they might reach for. Just be sure it’s on a stable surface and not wobbling around!
A lot of people actually don’t use the pouf at all. It just makes for really nice décor. You can place it anywhere that you see fit and just leave it there to create a nice ambiance. They will definitely add a touch of culture and tradition to any room you leave it in. And with a large selection of colors and colored stitching, you will definitely find something that will fit your desired room.
It’s a common household rule that pets are not allowed to be on the couch. Maybe let them chill on an ottoman instead? Its honestly a great place for small dogs and cats to curl up on. I’ve had friends whose poufs were stolen by their dogs and they’ve claimed it as their own! Which shows that the pets really do like them. Just beware that it’s a possibility that they could scratch the leather or mess with the embroidery, but if you trust your dog enough why not let they try it out!
